    Vladimir Koshelev

      FOUNDERS

      "Pole", Center for promotion and development of the Arctic and Antarctic territories, was founded in 2002 by the following citizens of the Russian Federation:

      Vladimir Koshelev, born in 1951, Honorary Polar Explorer, has a university degree of a surgeon/doctor of medicine, and has spent 25 years working in the Arctic region.

      Mr. Koshelev has participated in the North Pole Drifting Station expeditions, as well as in high latitude expeditions to the Arctic and the Antarctic regions aboard the ice-breaker "Arctica". Mr. Koshelev is the last Head of Administration on the Island of Wrangel.

      Victor Boyarsky, born in 1955, Honorary Polar Explorer, has a university degree.

      Mr. Boyarsky has participated in the North Pole drifting station and Antarctic expeditions, and in 1988 crossed Greenland on skis and dog sleds. In 1989-90 he took part in expedition Trans Antarctica, the first international expedition to cross the entire Antarctic region via the Southern Pole on dog sleds. Mr. Boyarsky has frequently participated in ski expeditions to the North Pole, and is a member of the Polar Commission of the Russian Geographic Society. Head of the Russian State Museum of Arctic and Antarctic in St-Petersburg.

    Alexander Orlov

      Alexander Orlov, born in 1955, Honorary Polar Explorer, has a university degree, and qualification of navigational engineer of the First Degree.

      Mr. Orlov regularly participated in Arctic flights during the period between 1975 and 1983, and took part in high latitude expeditions.
