LIVING QUARTERS OF THE "NORTH POLE" DRIFTING STATION
- The living quarters are equipped with furniture, ventilation, heating, light, fire alarm, and a radio transmitter.
- Microclimate in the living quarters is provided according to norms of sanitation and hygiene.
- The living quarters used by Center Pole have a short set-up time, are easy to transport, have a high standard of moisture repelling, and are equipped with a system of forced ventilation.
- The living module occupies 26 square meters.
- A maximum of eight persons can sleep in the module.
- Every cabin has sufficient outside light. During the polar night electric lighting is used.
- The cabin is heated with oil heaters. Racks for drying of clothing and boots are set up above the heaters in every cabin.
- The cabin can be set up by two persons within several hours.
- The births are set up as bunk beds, in two levels. A table, wardrobe, bookshelves, and other items are placed in the room to make the station's personnel's stay there more comfortable.
