      CLOTHING FOR PERSONNEL OF THE "NORTH POLE" DRIFTING STATION

    • Clothing will be distributed in a Moscow location, where it can be tried on and altered, if necessary.
    • Polar clothing fully satisfies climate requirements, and is cold-resistant.
    • Members of the expedition are also instructed in means of preventing frostbite and other effects of the cold, the correct use of warm clothing, and are shown techniques of self-help and mutual help in case of overcooling.
    • Clothing conforms to the strictest requirements for cold and wind protection, and is water-repellent.
    • Clothing is made of eider (goose) down, camel wool, and sheep, deer and seal fir.
    • The expertise of those native to the Arctic region is used in preparation of the station's personnel's clothing. Clothing is very warm, lightweight, and does not restrict movement.
