    S. N. Chikulayev

      S. N. Chikulayev, Deputy of the State Duma:

"I had a chance to visit the North Pole twice. In 2001 I visited the French ice camp, and in 2002, the ice station of the Russian polar expedition. Everything can be known in comparison. I have always been convinced that the Russian polar explorers and polar pilots are good at what they do. Now I am certain that the decision to restore a continuous presence at the North Pole drifting station, conducted by the Center for Promotion, Development and Research of the Arctic and Antarctic territories, is an obviously correct choice."

    V. D. Grebenyuk

      V. D. Grebenyuk, Deputy of the State Duma:

"During the past 11 years our country did not participate in the research of the Arctic Ocean. This caused a disturbance in a number of scientific observations, necessary for weather forecasting and ice study. It also makes safe navigation along the Northern Sea Way and arctic flights of various types of aviation impossible. The people I met on the ice floe, the personnel of Center Pole, have all the necessary experience and abilities. All members of the polar expedition have spent many years working in the Arctic region, and know the Northern region from personal experience. Their views and aspirations to restore the Russian North are of state importance."

    O. N. Korgunov

      O. N. Korgunov, Deputy of the State Duma

"Personal experience gained while spending time on the North Pole drifting station convinced me that the expedition is very well and carefully thought out and prepared, as far as providing personnel with warm clothing, comfortable delivery to the ice floe of balanced and high calorie meals, comfortable living conditions in warm arctic complexes, and provision with transportation and energy. All invitees felt the warm hospitality of Center Pole personnel, their professionalism and understanding of the particular importance of an expedition on such scale. This is a great beginning to restore a full year round operation of Center Pole station."

    A. N. Greshnevikov

      A. N. Greshnevikov, Deputy of the State Duma:

"I was lucky to participate in Center Pole expedition, which was prepared and organized by the Center for Promotion, Development and Research of the Arctic and Antarctic territories. I have had a chance to visit many areas of our limitless Russian North before. I am convinced that the restoration and further development of the Northern territories should be done in close cooperation with scientific research in the Central Arctic region (North Pole drifting stations). This is a necessary link in a chain of complex and positive development of the Russian economy."
