      A LIST OF FOOD ITEMS SERVED ON THE POLAR STATION

      1. Cold hors d'oeuvres:

    • Salads (with meat, fish, and vegetables), horse-radish, herring with minced eggs.
    • Cold cuts (hams, brisket, gammon, sausage, etc.).
    • Minced eggs with herring and mayonnaise dressing, cod liver.
    • Cured fish and meat fillet, red and black caviar (on holidays).

      2. Soups:

    • Fish soup, chicken soup.
    • Cabbage soup with fish, meat and mushrooms.
    • Borsch.
    • Milk soups.

      3. Main dishes:

    • Broiled and fried meat (tenderloin, steak, etc.)
    • Fried and boiled chicken.
    • Fried, boiled and broiled fish.
    • Cutlets, goulash, beef stroganoff.
    • Dumplings, meat pies.


      4. Side dishes: Potatoes, pasta, porridge.

      5. Baked goods: cakes and biscuits, pies, blini.

      6. Confectionery: chocolate, candy, honeyed nuts, wafers, cookies.

      7. Beverages: fruit juices, compotes, kvas.

      8. Alcoholic beverages: spirits, vodka, cognac, wine, beer, whiskey, rum, gin.
