COMMAND MODULE (QUARTERS OF THE HEAD OF STATION, DOCTOR, AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST) FOR THE ARCTIC EXPEDITION


• Due to special duties of this category of expedition members, they occupy a separate tent.
• The head of station's tent is slightly smaller than others, and can house one to three persons.
• It is also equipped with everything necessary to manage the expedition (a satellite phone, a photocopier, a computer, a typing machine, a safe for document storage, a desk).
• The expedition's doctor also occupies a separate tent which is equipped with everything necessary to provide medical assistance, if necessary.
• The medical room contains a sufficient amount of medical supplies, bandages, instruments for treating wounds, as well as for providing dental assistance, and materials to treat bruises and broken limbs.
• The medical room has a small bed for medical examination, which can also be used when quarantine or close medical observation is necessary.
• The head of station, chief mechanic, and aviation officer carry out radio and satellite communications. The aviation officer maintains continuous radio contact during airplane and helicopter landing and take off. For short-term Arctic expeditions, radio and satellite communications are located in the tent of the head of station.
